Our speakers on Saturday were equally impressive - starting with Laura Hieronymus, RN, MN, CNS, CDE - AADE's Diabetes Educator of the Year - on "The Business of Diabetes" - co-author of "101 Tips for Raising Healthy Kids with Diabetes."  Laura offered many business tips and insight to consider in our practice areas.
 
 
Sitting on the edge of our seats as we went on Phil Southerland's journey with Team Type 1, we heard first hand about "Empowering People with Diabetes." Phil left us wanting to do more - we will be watching his progress on June 12, 2007 as the second ultra-marathon 3052 Race Across America (RAAM) begins.

 
Our next speakers, Kathy Warwick, LSN, RD, CDE and Memory Nowell, Pharmacist, CDE offered new strategies for "Simplifying Diabetes Nutrition and Medications for Better Patient Compliance."

 
Anita Richard, APRN, ANP-C, GNP-C, CDE presented "Intensive Insulin Therapy and Trend for Glycemic Control in the Hospital Setting" and Peggy Bourgeois, APRN, MN, CNS, CDE presented "Reimbursement Update 2007."
